Privacy Policy

Last updated: 11 July 2026

This policy explains what information College Cutoff Analyser ("the App", "we", "us") collects, why, and what you can do about it. Please read it before using the App.

1. Overview

College Cutoff Analyser is an independent educational tool that helps engineering aspirants search and compare historical Karnataka CET cutoff ranks. The cutoff data itself is bundled inside the App, in a local database on your device.

The App does collect some data. It uses Google AdMob to show ads, Firebase Analytics to understand how the App is used, Firebase Crashlytics to diagnose crashes, and Cloud Firestore to receive feedback and data-issue reports that you choose to send. Each is described below.

We never ask for your name, email address, phone number, or any account. There is no login.

2. Information collected automatically

Advertising (Google AdMob)

The App shows banner ads, interstitial ads, and optional rewarded video ads. To serve them, Google AdMob may collect your device's advertising ID and limited device and network information (for example screen size, network type, and approximate region derived from your IP address). This identifier is shared with Google and may be used to personalise ads.

Google's practices are governed by their own policies: Google Ads and Google Privacy Policy. You can reset your advertising ID or turn off ad personalisation at any time in your device settings (Settings › Google › Ads).

Usage analytics (Firebase Analytics)

The App records how it is used, so we can see which features matter and where people get stuck. For example: which screens are opened, which exam is selected, which course keywords are added or removed, which category is chosen, that a search ran and how many results it returned, which filters and sort options are applied, and whether prompts (such as the share or update prompt) were shown, dismissed, or acted on.

These events are tied to a randomly generated app instance identifier, not to you personally. We do not collect your name, email, contacts, photos, files, or precise location.

Crash and performance data (Firebase Crashlytics)

If the App crashes or misbehaves, a diagnostic report is sent automatically. It includes the crash details (stack trace), your device model, operating system version, and the App version. It does not include your personal information.

3. Information you choose to send

The App has three places where you can send us something. All are optional; nothing is sent unless you tap Send.

When you submit one, the following is written to our Cloud Firestore database:

Please do not type personal information (your name, phone number, email, or rank) into these boxes. We do not need it, and we would rather not receive it.

These submissions are visible only to us. They are never shown to other users of the App.

4. Information stored only on your device

The following stays on your device and is never sent anywhere:

Clearing the App's data, or uninstalling it, removes all of this.

5. Internet use

The App needs an internet connection to load ads, to open official KEA reference links in your browser, and to send any feedback or report you submit.

Searching uses the local database, but opening the results screen requires a connection while ads are enabled. If you spend a reward to remove ads for the day, results can be viewed without a connection until midnight.

6. Data sharing

We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with anyone except the service providers that make the App work:

Both are operated by Google and governed by the Google Privacy Policy.

7. Retention and your rights

Analytics and crash data are retained according to Firebase's default retention settings. Feedback and reports are kept for as long as they are useful for fixing the App.

You can:

Because there is no account, we have no way to identify which anonymous analytics events came from you, so those cannot be individually deleted.

8. Children

The App is intended for students aged 13 and over who are preparing for CET counselling. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

9. Security

Data sent to Google's services travels over encrypted (HTTPS) connections, and the bundled cutoff database on your device is encrypted. No system is perfectly secure, but we hold no account credentials and no payment details, so there is nothing of that kind to lose.

10. Data source disclaimer

Cutoff data in this App is compiled from publicly available material published by the Karnataka Examinations Authority (cetonline.karnataka.gov.in). This App is independent. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to KEA or COMEDK. Always verify cutoff ranks against official sources before making an admission decision.

11. Changes to this policy

If the App's data practices change, this policy will be updated and the "Last updated" date above will change. Continuing to use the App after an update means you accept the revised policy.

12. Contact

Questions, concerns, or a deletion request: hulion.tech@gmail.com, or use the Feedback option inside the App (Settings).
